The SimmScope MOI software is a user-friendly PCBA inspection tool to be used in conjunction with a digital microscope. The software guides the operator to each component or region of interest (ROI) by highlighting the region on a graphical representation of the board. Each ROI is evaluated by the operator by comparing the live image to a known-good stored image. Once the operator passes or fails the ROI, the software steps to the next location. After all locations have been inspected, the system generates a post inspection report for rework and traceability. The software can also be used to create, edit, and verify XY lists for pick and place and other similar machines. The graphical environment makes it easy to spot and fix placement and rotation errors.

Features:

  • It is an entry level product that can provide for 100% inspection requirements. The operator is prompted to inspect every location that is stored for that particular board. During inspection, the ROIs are stepped through one at a time, under operator control.
  • It saves the operator time by showing the operator where on the board a component is located. The operator can also enter the designator in the search box to find the location of a component.
  • It is less fatiguing for the operator to look at the monitor than to look thru ring lamps and microscopes.
  • The system can be manually taught locations or can be quickly programmed using the powerful import functions to import from Gerber files, X-Y-Theta lists, and Bill of Materials.
  • The live image has digital zoom and pan capability to enlarge the ROI for easy viewing.
  • It works with all BigC Dino-Lite digital microscopes and most handheld digital microscopes.
  • A post inspection report is generated for rework and to provide traceability.
